Code on the Blockchain

Originally known as the technology behind Bitcoin, blockchain has wide ranging applications outside cryptocurrency and the finance industry. These include decentralized voting, data compilation, supply chain management and even prevention of piracy. The blockchain is a distributed database that maintains a continuously-growing list of records called blocks secured from tampering and revision. Each block contains a time stamp from a recent block.
